Every noggin’s greatest power is activated when you bring yourself outdoors.
Hey! Thanks for stopping by! Ian & Jai-Yu here, just wanted to write down the principles that are guiding Parapack at this moment. Or simply just share some things that you might hear from us if you were to ask us about Parapack in person.
MISSION

TEAM
Ian
Product Designer, Founder
A California native, Ian grew up skiing, mountain biking and working on small projects with his dad in their workshop. One of his earliest forms of creative expression was through skiing, but it wasn’t until design school that he discovered a new creative calling through sewing, problem solving and using design as a way to connect people with the outdoors.
After 10 years of product design and development experience working for other brands, he decided to give his own idea a shot. Using Parapack as a tool to grow his skillset outside design, work with a wider variety of people, and create an environment that would allow him to explore product creation on a deeper level.
Jai-Yu
Designer, Co-founder
An architectural designer drawn to functional details and the stories they tell, Jai-Yu spent 7 years designing accessible, functional, and welcoming spaces for schools, hospitals, multifamily residential homes, and offices. Now, she is exploring beyond the walls, doors, windows, and screens that often boxed her in.
Since collaborating with Ian, Jai-Yu has found inspiration for problem-solving through backpacking, bikepacking, and inline skating wherever her travels take her. There's something freeing about moving like the wind and feeling the terrain shift beneath her 80mm wheels—almost like reading Braille with her feet. These experiences deepen her connection with her surroundings and fuel her design thinking.
